What are forged fittings?
Forged Fittings are used for connecting valves, pipes, pumps, & other equipment’s in order to create a piping systems of the size of 2 or 4 inches in diameter.
There are main two types of forged fittings called socket-weld fittings and threaded fittings. Socket-weld fittings are connected to pipes by fillet welds whereas in threaded fittings the pipe is screwed onto the fittings.
It is manufactured from solid steel blocks which, within the tolerances set by the relevant requirements, are machined to obtain the final necessary form. The fitting class reflects the highest allowable pressure the unit can withstand.
The high pressure Forged fittings are made by bolting two forged fittings together with a gasket between them.
